The Writing Block Rules
Forum Rules
In order to proceed, you must agree with the following rules:
1. All pictures, videos and discussions posted must be PG/mildly PG-13 suitable. Okay so the moderation team isn’t going to freak if you post up something that has a few colorful words that we can add to our vocabulary. We won’t care too much if there’s a moderate amount of violence, either. If you post up a picture of a girl with a bikini, we aren’t going to give you a red card and run around screaming that you’re a porn addict. However, if the colorful words, pictures and videos get a little too colorful a little too often and are racist or obscenely sexist, disgustingly crude, promote illegal activities, or are pornographic in nature, they will be deleted and you will get a warning (Depending on the severity of the video/picture. Come on, people. We all have common sense. You know when you’re crossing the lines) As far as discussions go, I’m pretty sure you can get the idea. I don’t mind seeing a “Best kissing technique” thread, but if it turns into or there is a “favorite sex position” thread I’m pretty sure you’ll know which one is going to get deleted. There’s a fine line between mature and trashy so make sure you aren’t crossing it. If you question what you’re posting, pass it along to a moderator in a PM just to make sure its alright for putting up. You’ll definitely gain some respect points instead of doubling up on the untrustworthy ones. 2. Try and express yourself with words longer than four letters. You know what we mean. The moderation team won’t flip out if you have a moment of weakness or a couple minutes of exclamatory venting (with the exception of flaming) but if you can only express yourself with certain four letter words and your post is full of asterisks then its about time you picked up a thesaurus. 3. Keep debates and discussions friendly and civil. No flaming. The best way to gain respect with people is to respect them first. Try and see where people are coming from and understand their point of view. If you don’t agree you can state so, but also point out a couple areas where you might agree. If it’s a movie discussion you might not like the actor, but you can point out that you appreciate the quality of the film and some good action scenes. Don’t put people down because of their opinions, beliefs, or lifestyles. We have a very low tolerance when it comes to verbal attacks and threats, so please watch your temper around here. Put the flamethrowers away and take a chill pill. 4. Spam is for eating. Not for posting. We have an advertising section that you can view here:http://thewritingblock.com/forumdisplay.php?f=13 Spam is not limited to linking websites as it can include short posts (blatantly made for raising post count or other related actions) certain photos, PM’s, etc. Hopefully we won’t have to deal with a lot of it here, but when we do, we’ll make sure to get it all deleted in the shortest amount of time possible. 5. Enjoy your time here. If we seem harsh, we’re just trying to make sure things are mature while maintaining a friendly atmosphere. The entire reason this site was created was for you all: the writers, the artists, the conversationalists, the movie buffs, the gamers, and most of all, human beings. You aren’t just a number or a screen name here. We are here to make sure you find a niche and enjoy yourself without worrying about clicking something that might freak out someone else using your computer or even you yourself. We want TheWritingBlock.Com to be a place where you can relax and not care about competing for popularity or getting attacked. This site was made for you. We strive for your happiness.
